1. Introduction

ContentRails is operated by Better Version, Inc. ("ContentRails", "we", "us"), a Delaware corporation headquartered at 28 Geary Street, STE 650 Suite #228, San Francisco, CA 94108, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

We collect:

• Account details — name, email address, and password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
• Workspace information — workspace name and its members.
• Project content — the sites you add, the pages we read from them, files you upload, and the Project DNA, topics, and posts we generate.
• Publishing settings — the publish URL and signing secret you configure for each project.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
• Usage data — IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the product, for debugging and analytics.

3. How we use your information

We use this information to:

• Provide and operate the service, including reading your sites and researching, writing, and publishing posts.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions and credits.
• Send service emails, such as new topics, posts ready to publish, published posts, usage limits, and password resets.
• Provide customer support.
• Monitor, debug, and improve the reliability of the service.

4. AI processing

Your project content is sent to AI models to generate your Project DNA, topics, and posts, and topic and post research sends search queries about your subject to a web search model. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share it with third parties beyond the processors listed below.

5. Sub-processors

We rely on the following sub-processors to operate ContentRails:

• Cloudflare — hosting, database, file storage (R2), search indexing, page rendering, AI model inference, and transactional email.
• OpenAI — web search used during topic and post research, routed through Cloudflare's AI Gateway.
• Stripe — payment processing.

6. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies required to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a project, its pages, files, topics, and posts are deleted. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and generated content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes. Posts already published to your own site stay there.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing hello@contentrails.ai; you can delete any project, with everything we read and wrote for it, yourself from its Settings. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what data we hold about you and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
